Conversion Tracking with Google Tag Manager

The easiest way to set up conversion tracking is by creating a new "tag"  in Google Tag Manager.  The tracking is based on GTM Ecommerce datalayer and registers a conversion once a purchase event has been pushed to the datalayer.

 To install the conversion tracking follow the below steps:

  1. Log in to https://tagmanager.google.com
  2. Select tags and click new tag.
  3. Select tag type "Custom HTML".
  4. Give the tag a name eg. "Referanza Tracking".
  5. Paste in the tracking pixel.
  6. <script type="text/javascript">
      +function (r, f, z, a) {
        a = r.createElement('script')
        a.onload = function () {
          referanza_init(z)
        }
        a.defer = a.async = true
        a.src = f
        r.body.appendChild(a)
      }(document, 'https://script.referanza.com/referanza.js', {
        conversions: {
          gtmContainerID: {{Container ID}},
          tenantId: '<your_tenant_id>'
        }
      })
    </script>

  7. Replace <your_tenant_id> with the code you received from customersucess@referanza.com, but don't edit {{Container ID}}. The (+) before function should not be removed either.
  8.  Set the triggering to "All Pages".
  9. Click Save.
  10. Use the preview function check that there are no warnings or error messages in the developer console on the site where the code has been deployed.
